Volkswagen 1.8T Cam Belt and tensioner replacement

VAG recommend that the Cam Belt should be replaced at 120,000 miles, we suggest that this service should be taken out between 70,000 and 80,000 miles.

We prefer to replace the Cam Belt, tensioner and the idle wheel as opposed to replacing the belt, we also like to do the procedure between 70,000 and 80,000 miles just as a precaution as we feel 120,000 miles is a little to late in the vehicles life.
